Life Changes

There are several things about my jump into a new career that have changed my everyday life. The first and most liberating is not being permanently attached to my phone. As a restaurant operator for 15 years there was never a time when I could be "unreachable". Even on vacation I would carry my phone everywhere to ensure I could check sales, answer questions for my employees, answer questions from my boss, etc. It took a good four months or so finally detach. I no longer worry about where my phone is every second of the day nor to I feel the need to look up sales and check email every hour on the hour. The other day I actually left my phone at home and did not feel the need to turn around and go get it because I didn't really need it. It would have been nice to have it in case my husband needed something or someone else was trying to contact me, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if I did not immediately respond. This life change has allowed me to be more present in my life and with my children, and I am loving every minute of it! I had no idea how much I was missing out on.
